What is CARB-TCMPA?

The Canadian Alliance of Regulatory Bodies for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (CARB-TCMPA) is a national, not-for-profit organization established to develop and maintain consistent standards for the practice of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture in Canada. CARB-TCMPA develops and administers the Pan-Canadian Examinations to assess the qualifications of entry-level TCM practitioners.

Pan-Canadian Examinations

The Pan-Canadian Examinations are a series of exams developed by CARB-TCMPA to assess the competency of entry-level TCM practitioners. These exams are designed to ensure that all successful candidates possess the knowledge and skills necessary to practice safely, competently, and ethically in Canada.

The Pan-Canadian Examinations include:

Chinese Diagnosis

Four methods of diagnosis (inspection, auscultation, olfaction, and palpation), pattern differentiation.

Diagnosis and treatment of common diseases in each specialty.

Acupuncture
